Televisions were brought into society’s living room nearly a century ago. Since then, television has changed immensely. Society has changed significantly since the inception of television as well. At the time television entered the scene, furniture was quite different as well.
Now you can spruce it up with a nice beautiful piece of cherry or mahogany that allows for media storage with cabinets and also channels for wiring so we don’t have a mess of electrical wiring coming and going in the back and all around the TV. There is nothing worse than seeing a mess of wiring clutter underneath or beside an LCD TV that screams unorganized.

It would only make the TV look like it doesn’t belong in your home and your friends wouldn’t want to see that when football season rolls around. Since most entertainment centers from the past only house up to about a 30 or 35 inch TV you have to go with a TV stand to house your new plasma television set.
